Ultra street fighter 4 gamplay changes



Capcom has released a lengthy list of changes and tweaks it has made to Ultra Street Fighter 4. get settled in its bit of a read

The changes were made based on location tests being conducted around the world. Capcom has released a comprehensive list of character changes, offering detailed information in specific changes and tweaks on each fighter. There is a selection below, but the list can be seen in full on Capcom-Unity.

Killer Instinct Jail System


Killer Instinct developer Double Helix has given some details on the next patch for the game which includes a "Jail" system used to punished quitters.

The Jail system punishes players whose disconnect percentage goes above 15 percent for a minimum of ten matches.

DLC cancelled for WII U batman Arkham origins

Publisher Warner Bros has scrapped plans to develop downloadable content for the Wii U edition of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Platform holder Nintendo cited low demand for the downloadable content as the primary reason for calling off the content. Wii U owners who purchased a season pass for the Arkham Origins DLC will be refunded in full with eShop credit, Nintendo said.

Tropico 5 to be on PS4

Kalypso Media has announced that city-builder Tropico 5 will release on PlayStation 4.

The PS4 release will be the series' first on a PlayStation platform. Tropico 5 is also confirmed for PC, Mac and Xbox 360. An Xbox One version hasn't been announced.... yet anyway.

Kinect sports Rivals holding international tournament

A new update to the Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason app will introduce an international tournament taking place all of February.

Preseason International Champions begins on Saturday, the 1st of February, allowing players to set their fastest race time on the in-game leaderboard, in an attempt to be the fastest racer in both their country and the world.

Mario kart 8 release date

Nintendo will release Mario Kart 8 - Its debut on the Wii U - in May.

Company CEO Satoru Iwata made the announcement during an investors meeting in Japan on Wednesday. The announcement accounts for a worldwide launch, said Iwata.

Nintendo previously had the title pinned for a vague 'Spring 2014' release, with earlier indications pointing to an April launch.

Mario Kart 8 was revealed during Nintendo's E3 2013 Direct stream. The newest entry in the Mario Kart series introduces anti-gravity within the courses, allowing races to move to the walls and ceilings.

Massive Eve Online battle does $330,000 of damage

A massive battle in space MMO Eve Online that erupted on Monday 27 January has been described as the "largest, most destructive battle in gaming history", according to the game's developer CCP Games.

Dubbed the 'Bloodbath of B-R5RB', the battle is considered the biggest in the game's ten-year history, with 7,548 players taking part and a maximum of 2,670 in the B-R5RB system at the same time. there's a video at the bottom so you can see just how it went down

The Wolf Among Us episode 2 trailer

Episode 2 of Telltale's Fables: The Wolf Among Us is due for launch within days, and the studio has decided to drop a new trailer

It offers a sneak peek at what's to come in the second of five planned episodes to launch throughout 2014.


Playstation Now Beta Invites sent out



Sony Computer Entertainment has reportedly begun sending invites for its North American PlayStation Now closed beta test.

Unveiled at CES in January, the PlayStation Now service will allow users to stream supported PS3 titles such as The Last of Us and Beyond to tablets, Bravia TVs, Vitas and PS4s.

Tomb Raider Xbox one version runs at half the frame rate of the PS4



Tomb Raider Definitive Edition has been demonstrated running at 60fps on PS4, making it the latest PlayStation game that boasts double the frame-rate as the Xbox One edition. nothing new really.

A Square Enix spokesperson would not explicitly verify the disparity between the two versions, although recent developments have gradually verified the difference.

Castlevania: lords of shadow 2 Dev Diary

Konami puts some spotlight on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in this latest developer diary video.

In the clip, producer Dave Cox and head of development Enric Alvarez discuss "environments across time, Dracula's influence on his setting and the signature Gothic look".



Another recent trailer introduced the characters and adversaries that will feature in the third and final chapter of the Lords Of Shadow series.

Set many years after the previous Lords Of Shadow and its spin-off Mirror Of Fate, Lords Of Shadow 2 sees Gabriel, now known as Dracula, preparing to regain his powers so he can take on and destroy Satan.

Konami has confirmed a Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 release date of February 28 in Europe and February 25 in the US.

Smash Bros screenshot shows Kid Icarus Stage



A new screenshot for Nintendo's upcoming entry in the Smash Bros series has been released, showing one of the stages.

The image of a Kid Icarus themed stage was posted on the game's Miiverse by series creator and director Masahiro Sakurai along with a message: "You can find this statue of the Goddess of Light in one of the stages. She's watching over the arena."

Infamous second son gameplay footage

The video, originally uploaded to Taiwanese news site ETtoday's YouTube channel, shows a mission where Deslin is tasked with destroying an armoured vehicle. Carry on to see the footage.

Elder scrolls online requires Xbox gold but not PS plus



The PS4 version of The Elder Scrolls Online will not require a PlayStation Plus subscription, Bethesda has said

Normally, you need PS plus account to play online with the PS4, so it was possibie that PS4 owners would have to pay two separate monthly payments in order to play the MMO.

Amazon android console could cost less than $300 report claims



Work on Amazon's Android console is said to still be underway, with the company planning to release it later this year at a price of less than $300.

According to a VG247 report, the console is still in development and claims it will be released later this year.

Bioshock Infinite: Burial at sea episode 2 trailer

The first official footage from Bioshock Infinite's next DLC, the second episode to burial at sea, has been released.

Warning this clip may contain SPOILERS!

Priced at £9.99 / $14.99 (and also available as part of the Bioshock Infinite season pass), Burial At Sea: Episode 2 will allow players to take control of Elizabeth for the first time in the series.

A release date has yet to be confirmed for Episode 2.

Sly Cooper movie trailer

So hey the first trailer for the Sly Cooper movie has been released.

Planned to come out in 2016, the film will be written and directed by Kevin Monroe (who also wrote and directed the 2007 CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie).

The movie will be an origin story, telling how Sly learns his family's secret legacy and realises he comes from a long line of thieves.

It's up to Sly and his friends to find and reassemble pieces of an ancient book holding The Cooper Clan's family secrets before it can fall into the hands of the evil Clockwerk.

This might be short but its exciting. just today i discovered that we hit a milestone of sorts. we here at the cork gaming podcast are currently sitting in the top hundred gaming blogs on technorati. technorati rates and catalogs a ton of blogs and you get positioned accordingly. we believe the are held as one of the highest ways you can be recognized as a blogger so for us being so small is a huge deal. while we dont know how long we will stay there we are unbelievably grateful for even being their in the first place. so thank you for your support and we hope you will stick with us :)

Ultra street fighter 4 to have uploads to youtube

Ultra Street Fighter IV the update to super street fighter IV will include the option to upload previous fights onto YouTube.

The announcement was made on the official Capcom Unity blog, where the publisher's Street Fighter community manager, David Hinds, shared the news.

"Have you ever played a momentous match online and wished you had the ability to share it for the whole world to see?," he asked. "Well, soon you'll be able to do exactly that, using our direct upload to YouTube feature in Ultra Street Fighter IV.

"You'll be able to select any match from your battle log of online matches, and choose whether to upload it in low or high quality, directly to your own YouTube channel.

"Whether it's the best comeback since Daigo VS Justin Wong, or perhaps you had an encounter with a pro-player you want to share, this feature is great for those who are yet to own a direct capture device, and want to show off their favourite Ultra Street Fighter IV moments."

Capcom first announced Ultra Street Fighter IV in July. The Xbox 360, PS3 and PC update will introduce five new characters, six new stages and new modes and features. The fifth Ultra Street Fighter character, still not revealed, has been the subject of widespread speculation.

Owners of Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition will be able to download a digital upgrade version of Ultra Street Fighter IV from June for $14.99 (€14.99) on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The digital console update will be followed by the PC version in August, which will also cost $14.99 (€14.99), as well as the PS3 and Xbox 360 full digital bundle and retail versions. The retail versions will include all costume DLC as well as the new content for for $39.99 (€39.99).

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z delayed

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, the zombie-themed game based on Ninja Gaiden has been delayed in Europe and North America.

The game was originally due for release on February 28 in Europe, but a tweet from Tecmo Koei Europe has said it has been changed to March 21.

When asked if this would also affect the planned US release date of March 4, the company confirmed it would, with March 18 the new date.

The game's day one special edition was also revealed. It includes an exclusive full colour comic book by Dark Horse, a digital version of the game's soundtrack and Yaiba-themed DLC costumes for use in Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z stars resurrected evil ninja Yaiba Kamikaze, who seeks revenge against Ninja Gaiden's leading man Ryu Hayabusa, who was responsible for killing Kamikaze in the first place.

Powered by Unreal Engine 3, Yaiba is a collaboration between Team Ninja and Spark Unlimited, developer of Capcom title Lost Planet 3.

Bravely Default story trailer released

Nintendo and Square Enix have released a new story trailer for Bravely Default ahead of the game's US release.

Bravely Default arrives in US stores on February 7, two months after its December 6, 2013 release in Europe.



Nintendo released a Bravely Default demo via the US 3DS eShop on January 2.

Developed by Silicon Studio, the team behind 3D Dot Game Heroes, Bravely Default is a JRPG that utilises the familiar turn-based battle system seen in Square Enix's Final Fantasy titles while making use of the augmented reality features built into 3DS.

The 3DS game will be available at retail and on the eShop at launch. A collector's edition will include the game, an art book, 34 AR cards and the soundtrack.

King hits the banner saga with trademark claim

King, the company who made Candy Crush Saga, has filed another trademark dispute, this time against The Banner Saga.

The Banner Saga is a turn-based RPG set in a fantasy Viking-themed land. It was Kickstarted in early 2012 and earned $723,000, smashing its $100,000 goal.

The first chapter of the game was released on Steam last week, with two more chapters and a free-to-play spin-off planned.

Its development studio Stoic has applied to register The Banner Saga as a trademark, but now King has stepped in to try and block the application.

King has submitted a Notice of Opposition to the US Patent and Trademark Office, requesting that Stoic be refused the trademark for the name The Banner Saga.

According to the complaint, King believes "The Banner Saga mark is confusingly and deceptively similar" to its own Saga games, including Candy Crush Saga. It "believes it will be damaged by the registration of the mark".

Deus Ex: the fall released for android

Square Enix has made mobile title Deus Ex: The Fall available for download on Android devices.

A sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Fall is set in the same year and follows augmented mercenary Ben Saxon, a former SAS mercenary, as he tries to find "the truth behind a global conspiracy threatening his life".

The Android version is 862MB in size and requires Android version 3.2 or higher. It is priced at £4.99/€5.99/$6.99 and can be purchased now from the Google Play store.

The iOS version was released in July 2013 and was initially met with mixed reviews.

An update released a month later sought to address some of the game's other issues. The AI was enhanced, with enemies more effective at tracking the player during active combat.

Blizzard launches hearthstone open beta



Blizzard's Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft open beta test has gone live in North America, with other regions set to gain access in "the next few days".

To download the free-to-play card game, all you need to do is visit playhearthstone.com and click the 'Play Free Now' button.

Lionhead confirms work on non-fable

Developer Lionhead has confirmed it is developing a game outside of the Fable series.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Lionhead studio boss John Needham said although it is "primarily" a Fable studio, it is "working on other games, too".

"We're working on other different sorts of games as well that we're not talking about right now and won't be Fable-esque," he said.

Lightning returns demo released



Square Enix has released a Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII demo.

Square Enix says the demo lets players customise Lightning's style in both appearance and abilities before traversing the Yusnaan palace of her old ally, Snow.

Players can unlock the Siegfried outfit in the full retail game by sampling the demo, activating social-networking service Outerworld, and submitting their battle scores from the final fight against Zaltys.

The Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII release date has been confirmed as February 11, 2014 in North America and February 14 in Europe.

PS4 users report save corruption error



Some PlayStation 4 owners are reporting that the console is corrupting save data and rendering some games unplayable.

The error, named CE-34878-0, has become more prevalent in recent weeks, though the problem dates back to early December when complaints first emerged on the official PlayStation support forum.

Fable trilogy coming in February



Microsoft has confirmed the release of Fable Trilogy for Xbox 360, a pack which obviously bundles the three main games.

Scheduled for a February 7 release, the pack will feature Fable Anniversary - the HD upgrade of the original Xbox game.

Dead Rising 3 13GB update

A fairly large 13GB Dead Rising 3 update has reportedly been released for the Xbox One exclusive.

The update was first revealed in a Tweet from Xbox studio manager Mike Ybarra, who said: "Wow, a 13GB DR3 update? Holy... good thing I have 110mbps".

Twitch developing mobile gaming broadcasts



Twitch is developing technology which will enable users to live broadcast from mobile platforms, an executive at the company has told CVG.

  1. "The ability to broadcast from mobile platforms is sort of a next-generation broadcasting technology that we're working on right now, which also has the potential to change, fundamentally, the business," he said. "Simply because mobile gaming is nearly ubiquitous, at least in the US. So that'll be an exciting thing, to see how that fits into the ecosystem.

Surgeon simulator is coming to I-pad

The upcoming iPad version of Surgeon Simulator will feature a dentist mode.

Well thats what this short teaser hints at Bossa Studios.



The video shows a member of the development team working on the game, along with brief footage of a patient having their teeth smashed in with what appears to be a heart monitor.

In October last year, Bossa turned up at the Eurogamer Expo with an experimental version of Surgeon Simulator on iPad, though it hadn't yet committed to a full release.

The iPad version has now been officially confirmed, although a release date has not.

Surgeon Simulator is a comedy medical game in which players have to perform a variety of operations. The twist is that the doctor you control is incompetent, and as such playing the game is incredibly difficult.

Nintendo to post annual loss

Poor old Nintendo has warned that it expects to post a net loss of 25 billion yen (£147m) for the financial year ending March 2014, citing much weaker-than-expected sales of Wii U and 3DS hardware.

Nintendo had said it expected to report a full-year profit of 55 billion yen (£323m). Full-year sales are now expected to come in at 590 billion yen (£3.5b), down from the previous guidance of 920 billion yen (£5.4b).

Rockstar cracking down on online cheaters



Rockstar has announced plans to crack down on Grand Theft Auto Online cheaters.

The studio is going to penalise players who, in recent weeks, have exploited the free-roaming multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto 5 by generating and distributing "game-breaking amounts of in-game cash". Guilty players could be placed in isolated cheater pools or banned altogether

Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare delayed



PopCap has delayed Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare by a week. as delays go it's not too bad.

According to a statement, the game's new release date is February 25 in North America and February 27 in Europe.

Octodad: Deadliest Catch gets pc release date

Octodad: Dadliest Catch will release on PC, Mac, and Linux on January 30, developer Young Horses announced on Thursday.

The slapstick physics game, which stars an octopus posing as a human husband and father, will release on Steam, Good Old Games, and the Humble Store. an new trailer shows us some of what might be involved being an octopus dad.




Young Horses also said on Thursday that it's targeting a PS4 release date in March. The indie game has figured prominently into Sony's marketing for the new system, appearing on-stage at PS4 events and in playable retail kiosks. they even had full-body Octodad costumes for the PS4 launch event.

New Dark Souls 2 trailer


So A new trailer for Dark Souls 2 is out and it shows some boss enemies, as well as small glimpse of the game world.

The 'Cursed' trailer also provides more narrative context for the installment. Dark Souls 2 will be set "in the tormented kingdom of Drangleic" where the player will need to seek the cure for a curse.

FromSoftware last month stated Dark Souls 2 will not receive post-launch DLC. This echoes statements made before the release of its 2011 predecessor, which was nonetheless expanded with the Artorias of the Abyss DLC in 2012.

Dark Souls 2 releases March 11 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Saint row 4 gets new DLC


Volition has released new Saints Row 4 DLC titled the Stone Age pack.

Featuring two new weapons a club and a bone, male and female caveman outfits and a "Flintstones like car" made out of stone and wood, The Stone Age Pack is available to download now.

Dayz alpha passes one million sales

Bohemia Interactive has amazingly managed to sell over a million Alpha copies of its zombie survival game DayZ, according to CEO Marek Spanel.

Originally an Arma II mod, the standalone alpha version of the perma-death zombie survival game released on Steam Early Access and via Bohemia Interactive's online store on Monday, December 16.

The game quickly managed to hit 172,500 in the game's first 24  and topped 800,000 sales by January 6, according to the game's developer.

CEO Spanel said recently that, far from final, even a beta version of the game is still some way off. "We do not expect to reach Beta status sooner than the end of 2014," he said.

The Alpha version of the game has been available to buy on Steam for a cost of £19.99 / €23.99 / $29.99.

"[The Alpha is] a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs," Spanel explained. "We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle."

DayZ creator Dean Hall has indicated in the past that a DayZ console release is planned.

Last of Us DLC left behind gets new trailer

Naughty Dog has released a second trailer of its single-player DLC for last of us, called 'Left Behind'.

It shows Ellie being reunited with her best friend Riley, who had been missing for over a for a while. Left Behind is the first single-player expansion for The Last of Us, and serves as more of a prequel to the main campaign following Ellie before her encounter with Joel.

EA publishes SimCity modding rules


EA has published its policies regarding user-created SimCity mods. an its a bit... strict

In A post on the official SimCity website they explain that mods are essentially limited to cosmetic changes, such as reskins of buildings.

One of the rules states: "Mods must not jeopardize the integrity of the gameplay or harm the experience of others. Mods that affect the simulation for multiplayer games and multiplayer features, such as leaderboards or trading with other players, are not allowed."

Call of duty Ghosts DLC release date Announced



Infinity Ward has announced release date for the first Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC pack, Onslaught.

"Something menacing is coming Jan. 28," the studio said on Twitter. "Get ready for the #Onslaught."

Broken Age backers get early access



The wonderful Mr. Tim Schafer has confirmed that the Kickstarter backers of Broken Age, will be able to download Act 1 of the title from January 14. the lucky dogs

"Next Tuesday is going to be exciting because that's when backers can play Broken Age, Act 1," Schafer said via Twitter.

Another Smash bros 4 character announced



Nintendo has revealed that King Dedede, the arch rival of Kirby, will be returning as a playable character in the fourthSuper Smash Bros. game.

Dedede's first playable appearance in the series was in the third game, Wii title Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Yoshi new island release date confirmed.

Nintendo of America has very nicely confirmed a Yoshi's New Island release date. it being March 14.

The 3DS game is gonna be available in stores and from the Nintendo eShop as a digital download.

it was Announced in April, the game is being produced by Takashi Tezuka, who served as creative director on 1995's original Yoshi's Island for SNES. so hooray.

The game maintains series gameplay mechanics such as Yoshi's flutter jump, ground-pound and egg throw, while introducing new ones that make use of 3DS features like gyro sensor functionality.

The farm 51 announce new game Get Even

Painkiller Hell & Damnation studio The Farm 51 has announced Get Even for PC and next-gen consoles.

The Polish studio has released a teaser trailer for upcoming game, which makes use of a Polish piece of technology called Thorskan. The tech is used to scan real-life environments and recreate them in 3D. and then results are well you can see for yourself.

Daylight gets a new trailer



Sooooo Zombie Studios has released a new trailer for its upcoming first person psychological horror game Daylight.

ItsUnreal Engine 4 title, which is slated for release on PC and PS4 in the first quarter of 2014, it sees players attempting to escape an abandoned title with a dark criminal past, using only their mobile phone for illumination.

Last year in an interview with PlayStation Blog, creative director Andre Maguire said the game's procedurally generated environments will "allow for a massive amount of replayability, without feeling like you're experiencing the same scary moments over and over".

"The procedural creation of content in Daylight is where we're trying something new for the genre," he added. "We love the horror genre, and we wanted to try and create a game that would be scary every time you played it. What scares people is the unknown, and with this game, you really never know what's lurking around the next corner.

New Hitman game still in developement



Hitman fans can count on a new game in the series coming from IO Interactive despite indications that a Hitman game was canned last year.

A new Hitman game that was in development at Square Enix Montreal was cancelled in 2013, according to the CV of a senior game designer at the studio as reported earlier. But Square has moved to assure fans that a previously announced "AAA Hitman game" is still in development at IO Interactive.

"Io-Interactive is developing a new, AAA Hitman game that will be coming to PC and next-gen consoles and Square Enix Montreal is fully focused on mobile development of games some of which are related to the Hitman franchise," a Square rep told Polygon in response to the reports.

While this does confirm the continued support of the Hitman franchise, the statement doesn't deny that at least one Hitman title has been dropped.

"We look forward to sharing more details about these titles later this year."

As part of a restructuring effort at Square Enix last year, Rockstar veteran Hannes Seifert was appointed as full time studio head at IO Interactive to oversee development of "a new AAA Hitman project".

Meanwhile, Far Cry 3 exec producer Patrick Naud was to take on "a central leadership role" at Square Enix Montréal as the studio focused on smart devices.

Sony closing more online servers for games



Sony's UK division will  be shutting down online servers for a handful of first party PS3 games over the coming months.

As has been previously announced, MAG, SOCOM Special Forces and SOCOM Confrontation online features will be disabled by January 28 2014.

China lifts ban on foreign consoles



Huge news in that China has temporarily lifted a near 14-year ban on the sale of foreign game consoles,  according to Reuters reports.

The suspension of the ban will let foreign companies such as the big trio Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo to manufacture game consoles within Shanghai's free trade zone and sell the consoles across the country.

World of Warcraft add on trojan steals account info



Be careful out there guys a Trojan masquerading as an add-on for World of Warcraft was responsible for compromising user accounts even with authenticators.

According to a post on the support forum, a fake version of the Curse Client contained the trojan. The spoofed client appeared on a forged version of Curse's website.

Deep Down Prologue Trailer

This PS4 exclusive is an online RPG from Capcom, which is being developed in collaboration with SCE Japan Studio. The game will be free to play and support four player co-op.
